The 2020 Alberta Winter Games will be held in Airdrie, Alberta February 14th-17th. The Speed Skating event at AWG will be long track speed skating and will be held at the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary. Click here for an AWG promo video.

The Alberta Winter Games speed skating events will be taking place at the Olympic Oval this coming February.  Competition dates for this event are Saturday, February 15th and Sunday, February 16th.  If you are interested in volunteering, please use the following link to sign up: https://albertagames.rampinteractive.com/public/volunteerreg.aspx

The AWG Speed Skating Technical Package outlines the age categories and basic representation information. T2T1 (11/12 year olds) and T2T2 (13/14 year olds) are the speed skating age categories.

UPDATE: November 8, 2019. Based on a recommendation from the Skater Development Committee and approved by a majority of the Zones, Short Track Development Team members are eligible to compete in Long Track at the 2020 Alberta Winter Games.

Speed Skaters represent Alberta regional zones based on their residency (home address). An AWG Zone Map is available here:
