Educationand prevention are at the core of SSA’s efforts to promote sport safety. There are numerous programs, movements and initiatives that individuals and clubs mayjoin to communicate their commitment to positive sport experiences and to educate their members

Responsible Coaching Movement

SSA has taken the Responsible Coaching Movement pledge committing to implement policies that support consistent use of the ‘Rule of Two,’ Background Screening and Ethics Training.

True Sport

True Sport is a movement which promotes a safe sport environment based on the values of fairness, excellence, inclusion, and fun and the promotion of the seven True Sport principles of
GO FOR IT – Rise to the challenge – always strive for excellence. Discover how good you can be.

PLAY FAIR – Play honestly – obey both the letter and spirit of the rules. Winning is only meaningful when competition is fair.

RESPECT OTHERS – Show respect for everyone involved in creating your sporting experience, both on and off the field. Win with dignity and lose with grace.

KEEP IT FUN – Find the joy of sport. Keep a positive attitude both on and off the field.

STAY HEALTHY – Place physical and mental health above all other considerations – avoid unsafe activities. Respect your body and keep in shape.

INCLUDE EVERYONE – Share sport with others. Ensure everyone has a place to play.

GIVE BACK – Find ways to show your appreciation forthe community that supports your sport and helps make it possible. 

As an organization, SSA is committed to living the values of True Sport and promoting the True Sport Principles and expects all Individuals participating in SSA activity to do the same. We encourage clubs to access the resources and show their commitment by proudly displaying True Sport Lives Here on materials and clothing.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity training is crucial to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, where everyone feels welcome and respected.
