All Alberta Winter Games Coaches and Manager/Chaperones must register online right away.

All Alberta Winter Games eligible skaters must register online in order to be considered for a fill position. If you are not sure if you are an AWG eligible skater, contact your zone representative at the bottom of this page.

The 2020 Alberta Winter Games will be held in Airdrie, Alberta February 14th-17th. The Speed Skating event at AWG will be long track speed skating and will be held at the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary. Click here for an AWG promo video.

The AWG Speed Skating Technical Package outlines the age categories and basic representation information. T2T1 (11/12 year olds) and T2T2 (13/14 year olds) are the speed skating age categories.

UPDATE: November 8, 2019. Based on a recommendation from the Skater Development Committee and approved by a majority of the Zones, Short Track Development Team members are eligible to compete in Long Track at the 2020 Alberta Winter Games.

CORRECTION: November 14, 2019. Each zone will provide TWO coaches; one male and one female.

Speed Skaters represent Alberta regional zones based on their residency (home address). An AWG Zone Map is available here:
