SSA COACHING TEAM

Liam McFarlane:  Liam is one of our home grown ST National Team members (2010-2013) who is currently coaching with the Edmonton Speed Skating Club.  Medicine Hat Speed Skating Club is where it all began, with a move to Calgary to train at the Olympic Oval, and then onto Montreal to train with the National Team.  He competed is many World Cups, with a personal best in the 500m of 40.960!  Liam will have lots to share with our skaters at this camp!

Jacob McKenzie:  Jacob was a high level short tracker for many years, training at the Olympic Oval, who turned his sights onto long track where he posted some fast times prior to retirement.  An excellent addition to the Edmonton club with a wealth of information to share in both short and long track.

Brendan Yamada:  Brendan has recently retired from the Oval Stage 4 ST Program and has proudly worn the Maple Leaf, representing Canada in Holland and Italy.  He has competed in many high level Canadian competitions and is currently enrolled in the Comp Dev SSC coaching course.  Brendan's favorite distance is the 500m.  He has been coaching for the past three years and is guaranteed to provide very engaging and energetic sessions for our athletes.

AJ Dimas-Lehndorf is the Head Coach of the Edmonton Speed Skating Club and has been involved in many Speed Skating Alberta camps.  He is a skater favorite and, as always will add the classic and authentic fun factor to this camp!

Emily Rendell-Watson:  Emily is the Long Track Lead with the Edmonton Speed Skating Club as was a proud member of the 2011 CWG's in Halifax.  Emily uses her coaching skills to advance the sport of speed skating and off ice, she is a journalist covering sport, one of which is speed skating.
