AASSA - Extended Virtual Dryland Programming for All Ages

The Alberta Amateur Speed Skating Association (AASSA) continues to monitor the ever-evolving situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of everyone in our speed skating community is important to us.

We are pleased to announce that we are extending our Virtual Dryland program for another 6 weeks. This program has successfully kept our members active in the past 12 weeks, provided the skaters direct virtual access to a coach and connects skaters from all over our province. The details of the extended program are below:

Program Details & Fees:
The Zoom platform will continue to be used by our lead coach Tonny de Jong, Olympian and two time European Allround Champion. Participants will receive a weekly program (sent by end of day Sunday) for 6 weeks (week starting 20 July to week ending 28 August). Weekly virtual sessions will be hosted by our lead coach.
The weekly programs will be tailored to the participants' abilities and experience with dryland training. TeamSnap will continue to be used as a communication tool between our lead coach and participants.

Registration deadline is : July 17th Friday, 2020

Registration fee
• Fees for T2T/Jr skaters:
o $60.00 per person for 6 weeks (18 sessions)
o Zoom sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 17:00-18:00

• Fees for L2T skaters:
o $25.00 per person for 6 weeks (6 sessions)
o Zoom sessions are held on Wednesdays from 16:00-17:00

To register:


(A) For those who have already participated in the program:
If your skater(s) is already participating in the program, you don't have to fill up the registration form. You can simply email us a note with your skater's name to let us know that your skater(s) is continuing with the program.
(B) For new participants:
If the skater is new to the program, please fill out the Registration form and submit it.

Once we confirm the registration, we send out an email notification for payment. You can then send the payment to : info@aassa.ca.
Further instructions will be provided once registration is complete and payment is received.
